It ain’t charitable…
…if you’re forced to do it. This is akin to the Left’s confusion of state action with private action, and the ensuing putative equivalence (or superiority) of paying taxes to donating time or money to charity. Except that, of course, the former is compelled by force (try not paying your taxes and see if the U.S. Marshals who show up at your house are unarmed), so is not virtuous in the least. It’s the “virtue” of advocating such schemes which all too many on the Left (and not a few on the Right) confuse with real, virtuous action. I have no idea why. Laziness? Substitution of a political faith for a moral one? Bossiness? Got me. Doesn’t really matter in the end. But it should be resisted.
Don’t ask impertinent questions like that jackass Adept Lu.
