Ukrainian arms
So Bad Vlad is raising the temperature on their “Ukraine sold arms to Georgia” claim.
Now the claim seems to be either that they were selling arms into a war zone or that they sold arms “in the run-up” to the war. (Emphasis mine.) Which is of course, another way to say “peacetime.”
That incoherency aside, check out the allegation Izvestiya (I feel a Soviet-era punchline coming on… нет правды в Известиях!) laid:
The daily “Izvestia” on October 2 accused Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko of supplying air-defense systems and rocket launchers to Georgia.
Air-defense systems and (presumably anti-tank) rocket launchers? Uh, these are almost the dictionary definition of “defensive weaponry.”
Have we reached the point where the Kremlin feels secure calling giving its neighbors with the means to defend themselves against Mother Russia a provocation?
If so, those are some cocky bastards.
Above: A Ukrainian-built tank. That’s an offensive weapon.
Below: Ukrainian PM Yuliya Volodymirivna Tymoshenko. That’s a good-looking head of state.
Don’t ask impertinent questions like that jackass Adept Lu.
