I was going to write something about the Chinese naval provocations, but my comrades have covered it all pretty well. If you hit the China or foreign-policy tag, you should find more than a few post about China’s destabilizing, hegemonic ambitions in Asia, and how the appearance of weakness emboldens aggressive régimes (and how what we think is sweet reasonableness is often taken as craven weakness).
