The Czar knows he has been especially tough with POTUS Obama, particularly since 2008, but is open and honest enough to point out when the President makes the smart move.
And he may have done so. The President has agreed to drop his push for an assault weapons ban, and has even suggested enforcement of existing gun laws rather than create new ones.
This is more than political shrewdness, it is also a good idea. These are promises worth keeping.

He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
