Before Olbermann became a self-important, unhinged lunatic of a newsreader, he was a self-important deadpan sportscaster of genius whose work with Dan Patrick should be taught in Sportscasting School—which, given the ongoing credentialization of journalism, will soon be a master’s program at Columbia.
The loss of a beloved parent is a terrible one, shared across political lines, generations, and cultures. God grant her soul repose and her family comfort.
