Your Czar…Not the Biggest Fan of the UN
It’s almost as if the UN is on a personal mission to infuriate the Czar.
Evidently, UN General Assembly President Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann—continuing the fine UN tradition of awarding key positions to people with bizarrely exotic names—has declared the recent G-20 summit a monumental failure. Your Czar would refer to it as a monumental waste of time and money, but this does not mean we agreed with UNGAP [great acronym, by the way] D’Escoto Brockmann’s analysis.
His reasons:
He said that the members of the G-20 have neglected to allocate $2 trillion to $3 trillion needed in the developing world, and many countries have lost their trust in the U.S. dollar as the international reserve currency.”
Well, the dollar is the international reserve currency, for very smart reasons, and is not nearly as untrustworthy as D’Escoto claims. In fact, the loudest proponent of replacing the dollar is China, who stands to position herself better in a global economy if the dollar is seen as weak. That, and if the dollar indeed weakens further, China loses out a pile of cash because she herself has bet heavily on the buck. So why would D’Escoto want to kowtow to China?
Maybe because he is a former Sandinsta Marxist foreign minister who bows to any Communist or tyrannical overlords?
Maybe. But let us look at the other half of his concern: that the G-20 “neglected” to cough up $2-3 trillion for developing countries. He hates our currency, but he can’t get enough of it? Hey, front lump: if the G-20 has $2-3 trillion bucks on hand, they might want to invest in themselves right now. The global economy is pretty shaky at this moment…and if the G-20 goes down, your developing countries get crushed in the falling rubble.
So why would you want the G-20 to spend themselves into poverty and deficit to help the poorer countries? Maybe because D’Escoto is an unrepentant Marxist bastard who wants worldwide socialism?
“Claims of [G-20] progress were dismissed Tuesday by D’Escoto, who linked the global economic crisis to the war in Iraq and said that the whole world is now paying for the reckless decision of the United States to finance the war.”
The Czar cannot find the logic here. The whole world is out $2 trillion because the United States spent $694 billion of our money? The Czar thinks we can spend our money as we damn well please, having done more good in Iraq in six years than the UN did in its entire history. And speaking of spending US money, just remember who continues to be the UN’s historical financial supporter. Thank goodness we forget to pay our dues from time to time. Sort of like the rich geezer skipping a check to his corpulent jet-set kids from time to time so they remember to seek out brief periods of employment.
So why would D’Escoto be so utterly clueless about the US spending its money as it sees fit?
“His travels begin with a trip to Venezuela to meet with the government of Hugo Chavez before continuing on to Bolivia to confer with Socialist President Evo Morales and to Cuba, home of D’Escoto’s close friend Fidel Castro.”
Right: his Marxist buddies that he helps prop up with misplaced legitimacy. Speaking of dictators, you missed his love for the Iranian whackjob as well. Basically, any enemy of the US is a friend of his.
Two questions: is there some reason the UN continues to operate as the most expensive malfunction in world history, and is the Czar alone in seeing how completely anti-American and potentially out-of-control the UN is? Guess not!
By the way, feel free to read his official UN biography. Not only does it fail to mention his service as foreign minister was to an illegitimate communist government, but lauds his ability to make the US look like an imperial aggressor. It fails to mention that the overthrow of the Somoza regime, of which he played a major part, was an assassination. Or that his priesthood was suspended by the ever-forgiving-but-not-this-time Pope John Paul II. But he puts Tolstoy as his primary influence! One can guess why all these facts are omitted: because the UN would hate the uncomfortable glare of historical scrutiny that they unanimously elected themselves a major scumbag.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
