Happy V.E. Day to everyone, and a special thanks to the brave men who liberated Europe. V.E. Day is truly a celebration the heirs of the Allies and the Germans can share, given the spectacular success of the Federal Republic of Germany which allowed Germans to live more freely and in peace than they had…maybe ever. It’s a more melancholy day east of the Oder, as Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc., traded one tyranny for another, but the legacy of V.E. Day laid the foundations on which their eventual liberation was founded.
