Who is the fairest of them all? POTUS Obama has decided not to attend the National Day of Prayer activities, but will instead celebrate privately. On the face of it, this is no big deal, everyone still has the right in this country to worship or not worship in their own way. But this also comes right after his appearance at Georgetown where it was requested that all images and references to Jesus be removed—to which the Jesuits caved, but that is a post for another day. It is almost as if the president doesn’t want to be seen with any symbols of a higher power than himself.

I am a staunch supporter of the anti-establishment clause, and definitely don’t want the government interfering with the way I worship. God forbid we get government run socialized religion. But the current administration’s apparent hostility toward Judeo-Christian beliefs, whether real or perceived, is a symptom of the larger philosophy that the ultimate power in a person’s life is the government. Obama and his ilk should refer back to the Declaration of Independence, namely the portion that states, “We hold these truths to be sef-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights….” Our founding fathers, while either devout Christians, deists, or agnostics understood that the government was not the ultimate giver of rights, something this administration seems to be forgetting.

The Czar of Muscovy

Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
