North Korea is giving no hints about succession, but the rapid-fire moves to show off the North’s military strength, notably the underground test of a nuclear device on May 25, are believed to be timed to demonstrate Kim Jong Il’s power despite his physical weakness.
No, the rapid-fire moves to show off the North’s military strength, as well as the nuclear testing, are because they realize they can do any damn thing they want, and the US and the UN will do absolutely nothing to stop them.
As far as Kim Jong Un, the Czar is concerned with the idea that an unproven, inexperienced minor government player will be rapidly escalated to the highest levels of a crazed, power-hungry nation that cares little for the welfare of its people. After all, he sees all of this in Barack Obama and it isn’t working out well for us.
