Re: Poor Boy
God, we love Puter, especially when he is always right. The Czar agrees that conservative talk radio is making too much of Senator Barbara Boxers request of BG Walsh. Bigger fish to fry, people!
However, this exchange nevertheless gnaws at the Czar, and Chuck DeVore figured out what it is that bugs His Terribleness.
Perhaps it was her tone of utter contempt, and disregard for military protocol (you are a maam, maam, and the word maam actually ranks higher in the schema of respect than the title Senator), her snippy not-even-listening-to-you-really yes at the end of her own self-absorbed history…there was something Sotomayoral about it: the facts and the rationale of what you are saying are not as important as what I think I represent to others.
So it stuck in the Czars craw for some reason. And DeVore did a great summation of why the motive behind her request was far uglier than the simplicity of its wording.
Read Geeps call for sanity, but also check out DeVore: it is possible to agree with both views.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
