The Czar has heard yet another radio advertisement for a group demanding the POTUS Obama deliver his birth certificate. Article Two, Section 1, of the United States Constitution requires that the President be a natural born US citizen. If he has nothing to hide, what has he got to hide?

Let us be clear and honest here. This is a group that basically hopes that Barack Obama is ineligible to be President, and that he would be removed from office immediately upon the confirmation that he is not a US citizen.

Evidently this organization has read only the US Constitution, which does not—anywhere—define “natural born.” Simple research clarifies this.

First, let us assume the possibility that Barack Hussein Obama is not a natural-born US citizen. What this means is that Joe Biden becomes your President, so be very careful what you ask for.

But is it true? The arguments run along three directions.

Hawaii, in which he was born, is not or was not a state at the time of his birth. Hawaii was a state in 1961; any stories about the status of births in Hawaii plus or minus five years, etc., are nonsense unsupported by any law or facts. He was born on American soil (even if he were born in 1958, just as people born in Guam are US citizens born on American soil).

His father was Kenyan, and his mother was a minor. Makes no difference. His mother was a US citizen, regardless of whether she is of majority age. That is true for some births outside the US (jus sanguniis); by being born in a US state or territory by an American parent, he is a natural-born US citizen (jus soli) under US immigration law. Done and done.

His birth certificate is fraudulent. Evidently, there are competing camps—one that says his birth certificate is a fake, and the other that says it has been certified as authentic. In fact, it matters not either way. If the certificate were deemed to be a forgery, it would take him only a little bit of time to get a legimate, authorized, and notarized replacement. Why? Because he is a US citizen born in a US state, and hospital records will confirm the match.

Look—if there was the slightest chance that he was not eligible to run for President, would candidate Hillary Clinton have sat back and said, “Hmm, yeah, let’s hope someone brings that up,” or would her goon squad have made that front page news? Would the Rove have let this slide?

It also matters nothing what the Czar thinks. Every person familiar with the requirements of presidential eligibility concurs with this. The only ones who don’t are the ones who lack the ability to do basic research on citizenship law.

So drop it. This is a pointless urban legend that distracts from more important issues.

The Czar of Muscovy

The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
