The Czar is Everywhere
The Czars impressions of HR 3200 are becoming a bit of a phenomenon. Thanks to the kind folks who have been linking to it. And thanks to the folks who sent excerpts of it to the AARP and the Motley Fool! The Czar is honored you thought so much of it.
Unsuprisingly, there has been very little criticism of what we have written. There have been a couple of technical corrections already noted here, and one helpful soul actually helped translate a portion of the bill dealing with motorized wheelchairs (although he did not provide an explanation for why its even in there at all, but at least he was familiar with the subsection). But the sheer, overwhelming majority is total support for our efforts and horror at the bills contents.
To the folks at the Fool, yes, the Czar is aware that he erred by claiming that the Republicans held the House of Representatives in 1986. That was 96, as pointed out by one of our readers and acknowledged here. Actually, most of the Fool posters all seemed a little obsessed with that error, but thanks to the folks who kept trying to talk about the rest of it.
And the Czar was pleased, but not surprised, by the outrage expressed on the AARP website. Thanks for your support and prodigious use of exclamation points. To address a couple of objections, nothe Czar of Muscovy is not one of the Presidents czars. Just incredible that we reached a point where that becomes a reasonable question. Sigh. And to the second objector, yes, the Czar agrees he is both a fool and a moron. After all, he was foolish enough to read the entire bill. And to the lady who asked why the Czars opinion is any better than her own, the Czar might suggest that he, unlike you, actually read the contents of the bill, which she obviously has not. And indeed thanks to the commentator who asked her to explain, as a supporter, how she would address my specific complaints. The AARP is a logical place to find people horrified by this bill, and indeed word is getting around that elderly people stand to lose the most over time.
Stay tuned for the next installment, which will arrive shortly after midnight Eastern time. We will get through all 1,107 pages, and it stays amazing right to the end. The Czar will also finish up with a summary of the ten posts for your convenience…as well as a depressing realization about what this bill symbolized.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
