Re, Re: CIA Directors
GorT is correct in his summation that, “The power, control, praise and blame for this action while directly attributable to Eric Holder, stop and lie on the desk of President Obama,” but the President and the administration really don’t care. For them this witch hunt that will eventually turn into a media frenzy driven show trial is just what the doctor ordered.
This “investigation and potential prosecution” of these evil, rogue, sadistic, mean, or whatever the adjective of the day that the progressive/leftist/statist media uses to label these brave men and women that put their lives and careers on the line to defend this great country serves a number of purposes for the administration:
1. It is an appeasement bone thrown to the ravenous left-wing nuts that demand blood for what they perceive as another example of America being America – that is an evil imperial state out to oppress the rest of the world.
2. It is bread and circuses to distract the media and the public from other actions (healthcare reform, Czars-gone-wild, etc.,) that the administration is engaged in.
3. It is another way to “dumb-down” the country so that we are equal (or vulnerable) to the other countries in the world. Again we need to remember that this administration and those who support it do not believe in the exceptionalism of the United States, but feel that we need to be put in our place.
4. It allows the administration to blame Bush.
I would say that I hope that Eric Holder can look at himself in the mirror without shame if there were another attack on this country. But I fear that the reality is that he would never be able to put two and two together to realize that what he is doing is emboldening the enemy. Then again, for him the enemies are those brave men and women who seek to preserve this country from those who would destroy it.
Oh, and rest assured that once emboldened by a victorious prosecution of these CIA interrogators the Department of Justice will turn its sights on those individuals (i.e. V.P. Cheney) who gave the orders.
The Mandarin, whose real name is 吏恆, joined the order in 1309, and introduced the Gormogons into England during the 18th Century.
The Mandarin enjoys spending time with his pet manticore, Βάρἰκος, or Barry (who can be found in the Bestiary). When not in the Castle…well, frankly, nobody is quite sure where he goes.
The Mandarin popularized the fine art of “gut booting,” by which he delivers a powerful kick to the stomach of anyone that annoys him. Although nearly universal today, the act of gut booting or threatening someone or something with a gut boot is solely due to him.
