So Lou Dobbs is fed up with the horrific leftward tilt of CNN. He asked to be released from his contract in order to avoid reading the party line to the world, and CNN (happy to be rid of him) let him go. He will be replaced by liberal-leaning John King. That’s basically all there is, right?

WaPo: The decision, described by network sources, amounts to a doubling down on straight news. King, a former Associated Press writer, is known for his reporting and neutral approach to politics, while Dobbs has grown increasingly opinionated in recent years, especially on such issues as his opposition to illegal immigration. Remember: liberalism = neutrality. Conservativism = growing dementia. Perfectly straight.

LA Times: CNN is handing Lou Dobbs’ 4 p.m. PT time slot to anchor John King, whose encyclopedic political knowledge and deft use of technology made him one of the network’s standouts during last year’s political coverage. Dobbs? Simply resigning after nearly 30 years. Probably because he’s a dimwit with no clue about technology.

Dobbs’ departure from CNN is a clear indictment of the pro-liberal Obama Fantasy Camp that CNN has become. NY Times: In a clear contrast to the outspoken Mr. Dobbs, Mr. King, a former Associated Press writer, is known for his straightforward style. Remember: liberalism = straightforward. Conservatism = wacky. That’s quite clear.

Freep: CNN’s Lou Dobbs, a lightning rod for criticism following his transition from a business journalist to an opinionated anchor on such issues as illegal immigration, told viewers Wednesday that he was quitting his show to pursue new opportunities. If you can’t say something nice about a person, simply dismiss him as a lightning rod for criticism.

Dobbs: The national liberal media has chosen sides. And they have decided that they’re going to focus on the liberal view, which is that they will embrace illegal immigration no matter who is harmed, no matter how many laws are broken, or how few consequences there are for breaking those laws. My wife has now been, and I have been, shot at.

By the way—the Czar is not 100% convinced Lou Dobbs is as conservative as he claims to be. It makes no difference, though. His departure from CNN is a clear indictment of the pro-liberal Obama Fantasy Camp that CNN has become. In true fashion, they are portraying Dobbs as an outdated blowhard, with quaint notions that do not fit in with liberal opinion straight news.

No liberal bent to the news? Then care to explain the weird similarity between the news accounts, including vocabulary and argument structure?

As always, we can do what Dobbs evidently did: look at the ratings and see how well the world believes CNN’s claims of neutrality.

The Czar of Muscovy

The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
