In the Wall Street Journal, John Fund has an excellent assessment of the precarious position Senator Harry Reidmore specifically, his mouthhas placed his own party in. It is quite brief, so check that out.
Either Sen. Reid is so astonishingly clueless that he is incapable of assessing how his re-election chances are pure smoke (the Czars theory), or else he has accepted the inevitability of his replacement by a future Republican senator and thereby wants to go out in a big middle finger way (the Mandarins theory).
Fund, however, not only rehashes the basic history that Sen. Reid forgets about the Democratic Partys disastrous congressional record where race is concerned, but also reminds us that President Jimmy Carter twice exemplified classic Southern racism in his pre-gubernatorial days, suggesting that racism is a party-wide problem still.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
