Steven Weber Has It All Figured Out
The President is becoming widely recognized as a bumbling fool.
Congress is dismissed as an ineffectual, disconnected entity.
Actor Steven Weber knows who to blame. The conservatives, of course.
Blame? Or thank?
Weber, who displays the deep sense of political savviness in common with most ex-waiters stalking the silver screen today, is part of a rapidly growing population: liberal democrats who are furiously disenchanted with Obama, but cannot quite admit they shot themselves in the foot with this guy.
Someone has to be blamed; why not the right wing?
When Barack Obama was elected, he reminded the masses of dreams they heard about in school, and dreams they may have had themselves; that smarts and drive and verve could win the day, could be as antiseptic to the years of diseased ideals, corrosion and cronyism; his youth and grace under pressure would be a tonic to the studiously sown fear under the Bush regime, characterized daily by obvious hypocrisy and brazen disregard for the democratic standards upon which Americans base their allegiance.
Freud had a word for it: transference. These are all things you wanted to see. You projected all these fantasies onto a guy who simply refused to explain who he really was…even though the guy made it fantastically clear throughout his political history that he was in fact another exploitative, power-grabbing big government liberal in lockstep with organized labor.
You saw him as your savior. He never said he was. He also never said he was not. He simply is what he is, and you put him in office.
No, Weber, America is not over. Your fantasy-based vision of it is ending. Obama was, as you will not admit, the last, best chance for far leftist Boomers to re-establish the Disco dream of the 1970s. Well, now hes in power. And that same mentality owned Congress.
And guess what? The dream played itself out; it has been a disaster, and you have only yourselves to blame. Since you are an actor, check out the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper. You danced all summer; now sing all winter.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
