Well, He’s Right, Of Course
Phil Klein got a chance to talk to Rep. Paul Ryan about ObamaCare. Ryan, who is a very smart cookie, wants us to take a step back and be patient with this ObamaCare thing.
No, not to embrace it. We have to be patient about killing it, because it isnt gonna happen in January, 2011. Or February. Or anywhere in 2011, or even 2012.
Why? Because the President is still the President.
You cannot repeal it, because the President will veto that. So you simply defund it, right?
Well, no. Because you can put in all the language you want in any bill you like about defunding some, a little, a lot, or all of the ObamaCare funding provisions…but guess who has to sign that into law?
You guessed it. So unless you get a Republican president in 2012 committed to killing ObamaCare, you can pretty much forget about eliminating it.
Which means, for the next two years, it is here to stay.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
