Denial Is Never Truth
Jeez, really? The Czar feels like Puter here: he has developed astigmatism from rolling his eyes at an E.J. Dionne, Jr. essay. Is it tragically under-researched? Is it intended to be a visceral reaction rather than a logical construct? Is it designed to inflame? Did the Czar mention the authors name?
He takes on gun control, and admits we have learned nothing from the Tucson tragedy. You see, conservatives remain icky people because they still think guns are a good idea. Evidently, you see, there is this ridiculously laughable notion that conservatives endorse the Second Amendment because (a) it supposedly prevented tyranny and (b) it still does. Ha ha! As if the Federal government would actually tyrannize a citizen today!
No, despite the legal argument from the quoted Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), the Feds are not going to take down a single individual; but a single individual can terrify a family. Self-defense is an unalienable right: and an armed intruder in the home, anyones home, is a tyrant, and a tyrant is a criminal. There is no difference.
Inconvenient to all liberals anti-gun rantings is, of course, the truth: in the liberal mind, guns serve two purposes: to kill innocent people, or for sport (typically defined as shooting animals). But liberals hunt, so this is okay. But multiple magazines, extended capacities, long barrels…these serve no legal purpose and should be illegal. Of course, they dobecause self-defense, where these items can easily matter in seconds, is also something that may not exist in a liberal context.
Self-defense does not exist, to the liberal. It is the responsibility of the Government, through a police force, to defend you. Hence, all self-defense arguments for the Second Amendment are false. All sporting and hunting activities are voluntary, and not rights. Therefore, the only possible value of the Second Amendment, which we hear time and again, are for a militia. Any other application is a criminal activity.
Of course, the idea that self-defense is not your right, is impossible to support through millions of anecdotes and study of human psychology. A pacifist, the Czar believes, is somebody who has not had his ass kicked yet. Once it happens, you will ensure it will never happen again. Defensive wounds on victimss hands is proof that one cannot legislate away the instinct to defend.
So any perception otherwise is madness. Of course, as the liberal frenzy over the Tucson shooter proves, the common liberal is unable to comprehend madness. Which of course is no surprise to anyone who tries to reason with one.

Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
