BG Takes A Deeper Look At Wisconsin
BG writes in with a curious observation on scrapbooking:
O Noble Czar
Apropos of the Царица’s observation that anyone who wants to dump on a teacher for being an over-compensated, lazy-ass greedy bastard only has to point to Madison, Wisconsin, to prove the point, and that the teachers’ union has done them no favors with this stunt.
Your newspapers keep telling you how the nasty old Republicans want to shut down the federal government. But have any of them pointed out what’s going on in Wisconsin?
First, the Democratic senators all go into hiding. For what purpose? To shut down the legislative branch of the government.
Then mobs of union people storm the state capitol and physically prevent Republican lawmakers from getting to their offices. For what purpose? To shut down the legislative branch of the government.
And now we have death threats against Republican lawmakers. Not metaphorical, “We’re targeting your district in the next election,” threats, but honest-to-God, “We’re going to put a bullet in your head,” threats.
Elections, our president was fond of saying until last year, have consequences. But apparently the left believes that rule applies only when they win the elections. When they lose elections, they try to shut the government down. At least in Wisconsin.
The left’s new slogan: “We win or it’s mob rule.” How do the teachers’ unions feel about being associated with that mentality?
Well, indeed, she indicated that they hate it: these people are generally not in education, but are volunteer protestors eager to champion a cause that isnt even theirs simply because it is anti-conservative.
The Czar has said many timesand doubtless will repeat many times hencethat conservatives, Republicans, or right wingers should basically stop being surprised by instances of hypocrisy from the liberals, Democrats, or left wingers. Really. It isnt even dog bites man stuff: its more like crickets chirp news. It is what they do, because it is inherent to what they are. The liberal mind is fully capable of holding two contradictory thoughts in the head and seeing no difference between them. Psychologists call it cognitive dissonance, while Michael Savage calls it a mental disorder. Whichever is easier for you. But if you are going to be shocked by their hypocrisy, you will spend the rest of your life in perpetual shock.
But BG points out there is a difference here. Basic liberal hypocrisy is what we got from Jesse Jackson, Jr., the other night: he effectively lambasted the Wisconsin Republican senators for using a parliamentary trick, such as the Rule of Law, to pass a majority vote despite the wishes of the clear minority voice. He called it an abuse of democracy itself, without any ironic realization of what he was saying. He evidently has the entire concept of representational democracy (majority rules based on procedural process) completely bass-ackward. Again, are you surprised?
BG has pointed out that this is more than hypocrisy. Take for example the actions of a Democratic staffer who opened a secure window in the state capitol building, allowing protestors to sneak in after they had been ordered out. They promptly set about opening locked exterior doors to allow additional protestors to seize control of the building. This is not merely hypocritical behavior: it is dangerously subversive behavior. It is active criminal behavior.
Yet the Czar is not surprised about this. Many liberals, as Michael Moore reaffirmed the other night, view their actions as war. Ends justify means: you play by the rules as long as they work for you; once the rules favor the other guy, you break them. Because, In the End, you will be forgiven your transgressions. Everything is a crisis of apocalyptic proportions to some people: and just as Jean Valjean will steal bread to help his starving family eat, so too is it all right to break the law, ignore the law, or simply stop democracy cold.
What Chinese person did we ever tick off to be blessed with such interesting times?*
* Dear Readers. In the interest of all fairness, the Czar has to report that there is no such Chinese curse. Its origin is unknown, but appears to be American. Kind of like Hillarys ancient African proverbs that she makes up.

Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
