Palin Ain’t It, Either
The Czar has come to the unfortunate realization that Sarah Palin, despite her talents and media sizzle, is now unelectable. Perhaps this is a good thing.
Her recent association with Donald Trump was a major mistake, when other GOP leaders are avoiding him like the pro-Democrat rabble rouser he is. Although she properly denies any intent to partner with him for the Presidency, the fact she even participated in a photo op with that guy is a forehead slapper.
She initially polled quite high; alas for her, since then other candidates have entered the race. And immediately her popularity plummeted to either a dead heat with the President or a stunning loss. And while the Czar thinks that she realistically would beat Obama, the margin would be annoyingly close. Other candidates, by contrast, could overwhelm the President. We need to overwhelm.
She gets the new media: awesome sound bites, clever Tweets, and a delicious ability to confound the Lefty media with unannounced appearances. But what, exactly, is her policy on Egypt? The F-22? Libya? Educational reform? Labor reform? Frankly, she seems a little absent on answers that require more than 140 characters. The public loves those short responses, but we have had enough of politicians who campaign well, but fail to be president. Yeah, she gives great speeches, on a variety of topics, in detail and structure! Name one. No cheating: go ahead and summarize one of them without re-reading it. Cant do it? Neither could we.
Overall, most Americans do not actually believe she is a stump-dumb airhead, and have caught on that 99% of the dumb things attributed to her were either never said or were said by Tina Fey. But comments about Paul Revere warning the British are not helping. Sure, every politician says dumb things to the press (57 states?) that are exaggerated unfairly; but Ms. Palins full-context unedited quote is alarming not because she said Revere warned the British, but because it sounds like some incoherent, drunken ramble. The whole, actual quote is much worse than the historical slip.
So what is a Sarah Palin to do? Here is a thought: be Sarah Palin. Continue with the speeches, book tours, autograph signings, and motorcycle rides. Why?
Because it is totally distracting the liberal media from attacking the real, emerging candidates. May she continue to do so! She has shown an uncanny skill for frustrating them at every turn, and for using their own word-twisting games to expose them for the lower-IQ posers they are. The amount of damage she has done to biased media is severe, and we are in her debt.
The liberals are obsessed with her like nothing else. Right now, on some media website, we can guarantee you can find someone posting a comment about how stupid she is, or how disastrous her politics are, or how she will galvanize the public into returning to Obama…and convincing them they have the Whole Thing figured out. Like the Emperor Claudius, she lets them talk until they expose themselves as unthinking moronsthe epitome of what they pretend to detest in others. Let these people continue to miss out on the real re-emergence of Conservatism. It makes our job so much easier.
Because shes really good at reforming the GOP. Her personal life has won over conservatives; her experience as governor and as vice-presidential candidate has attracted millions of traditional Republicans; her outspoken criticism of waste and spending has rallied the Tea Party. People of all stripes listen to her. And while she may not tie together enough of these parties to win an election, she can guide, direct, and advise any candidate to stick to the message. There is no one in politics, in either party, who can do all that so soundly.
She is changing the image Republicans have about themselves. Yeah, Barry Goldwater was an old man. So was Nixon. Heck, so was Ford. And at that, so was Reagan! Come to think of it, so was George H. W. Bush. And Bob Dole. And while George W. Bush was not all that old, he used a lot of old men as his advisors. So when a young, dynamic, good-looking Democratic candidate showed up and dazzled everybody in 2008, the GOP decided to do something drastically different: they ran another old man. In the last months, when Obama was running away with the media, academia, Hollywood, and the polls, the GOP found Sarah Palin. By the time of the election, Obamas lead was not as big as liberals claim it was, and it was certainly nowhere near where it started: all because the GOP found Ms. Palin. She is young and, as it happens, female. And she has demonstrated that she is absolutely the opposite of almost every liberal banality about conservatives.
She is so much more than a Presidential candidate. But despite all that, she really is not a good presidential candidate. Such a pity.

Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
