Today, the New Atlantis Jedi Academy, where the lil med student and lil resident are learning the ways of the Dark Side of the Force, had their annual Father’s breakfast. Dr. J. and the kids had a blast, and much bacon was consumed. He was pleased to see the dads out in force. It is always a blessing to see so many fathers there acting as strong role models for their children, simply by being there, getting to know their friends a little better, and enjoying the younglings company.

Sadly, there were two dads not in attendance this year, one of whom has a daughter in the same grade as the lil resident, and both of whom who left this world too soon. Dr. J. knows that this is a hard day for both of these padawans, as he lost his father while he was in college. He was very pleased to see that one of them had a close friend whose father served as proxy, while the other had some co-workers of his father there in his stead. Kudos to these outstanding gentleman for extending the hand of compassion to these children.
