The Czar On Evolution (Blah Blah, etc.)
Wow, did Michael Potemra totally nail it today.
Basically, he demonstrates that anyone with a sensible reading of Genesis (the book, not the Gabriel/Collins group) must conclude that Darwinian evolution is actually in the interest of religion. In fact, not only does the Old Testament encourage evolution, it actually commands it.
You might be surprised, but officially, only a smidgen minority of Christians oppose evolution. Catholicism, for one, absolutely embraces it. But you do not need to embrace Catholicism to recognize the reality of evolution. Many other Christian denominations also accept reality as, well, reality.
Look, the Czar does not wish to alienate or insult some of our Evangelical readers, but come on: if your faith is weak, you are threatened by evolution. If your faith is strong, you have nothing to fear. Can we get over this artificial argument?
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
