This is not really about liberals or conservatives, but about immaturity and living in a fantasy world.

A handful of OWS protestors has established a rape free zone in Zuccotti Park, including a tent safe house that can provide shelter for up to 30 women.

“It will be used to protect ourselves from people out there,” said Nan Terrie, 17, a protester from East Oakland Park, Fla. “I’m sick and tired of women getting taken advantage of, raped and murdered. “We need to take charge. We can make it happen without men telling us what to do.”

Wow. Okay. Here are some thoughts, little idiot. If, that is, you don’t mind a man telling you what to do?

Who is the 31st woman who will be denied entry? What will she be told, and who will tell her?

What happens when the first guy demands admission? After all, there are stories of men being sexually attacked as well. But this probably is less about rape than it is about men.

And what happens if a clever female predator goes into the tent and attacks a woman? Drum circle time, to scare away the hypocrisy!

A note about safe zones. When you establish a safe zone, you basically condone and endorse the behavior outside that zone. A smoke-free zone? Anyone outside it can smoke as much as they want. An alcohol-free zone? Anyone outside it can drink whatever they want. A kid-free zone? Kids can run nutso outside it. So what does Nan think will happen to women outside the rape-free zone? Who gives her that right?

Re-read Ms. Terrie’s quote. Were any women murdered in Zuccotti Park? Instead, this has less to do about protecting the OWS women than it does about something terrible in Terrie’s psychology—a realization that the world is a terrible, horrible place, and the best she can come up with is a security blanket of a tent to hide herself away in, safe from the monsters under the bed. With a limited number of her friends who can come in. Girls only!

She isn’t the only one this deluded:

“I think it’s a great idea, especially for a movement like ours, to show we’re supporting each other,” said Bieje Chapman, 37, of Park Slope. “Certainly women are the first target for any type of crazies, but I live in Park Slope, and the rapists there are more scary. I feel safer here.”

More scary? Total fantasy world. And right now there are an equal number of liberals and conservatives slapping their foreheads in disbelief, thinking these kids really need to grow up.

The Czar of Muscovy

As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
