Prove Us Wrong
Polls have been showing Newt Gingrich was going to do well in South Carolina, so the Czar is bemused by all the pseudo-surprised commentary about his victory there. In all respects, this might very well be Newts personal best; he might only be headed downhill from here.
On the other hand, Mitt Romney was dealt a hard overhand punch, which shows that his nomination is far from secure.
And what the heck with Rick Santorum? By all accounts, hes nailing his speeches, impressing people, and doing everything that should be earning him votes. And he isnt getting them. However, Santorums deep cuts in the last debate have drawn blood on both Romney and Gingrich.
The Czar is starting to think we might see a real campaign beginning as of tonight, as all three now realize how seriously they have to take this venture. Newt Gingrich has to learn to rein it all in; Mitt Romney has to start flexing some muscle; Rick Santorum has to learn charisma. Theoretically, all doablethe one who wins the eventual nomination is the one who can do it first.
In other words, the conservatives and Republican voters think youre all a pretty sad lot of candidates. As of tonight, one of you has to prove us all wrong.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
