And the Good Sportsmanship Award goes to…
Kirani James of Grenada!
Dr. J. was up late last night watching Olympic coverage, including the semifinals of the 400m dash. Grenada’s Kirani James placed first in the race while South African runner Oscar Pistorius came in last. For those who didn’t get the memo, Mr. Pistorius is a double amputee who runs well enough on prosthetic limbs to qualify for the Olympic 400m dash Indeed, he even placed second in his heat at the Olympics.
Anyway, At the end of the Race, Kirani went up to Pistorius and congratulated him for his hard work and asked if they could trade name tags.
It was probably the most genuinely classy thing Dr. J. has seen in sports in quite some time.
