Not a Cuss Word
Dr. Krauthammer writes at NRO today:
There are two ways to run against Barack Obama: stewardship or ideology. You can run against his record, or you can run against his ideas.
Liberals castigate their opponents using the term ideologue. Basically, an idiologue is someone who has a pretty set political and/or economic philosophy and sticks to his guns. For example, President Obama is a Progressive ideologue. Paul Ryan is a fiscal conservative ideologue. Dr. J. is a conservative ideologue. Arlen Specter is a mewling quim who blew wherever the wind would take him. He was not an ideologue, rather he was a pain in the ass. Mitt Romney, he’s a business man and not an ideologue. Governor Phil Bredesen, head of the get along gang, not an ideologue. Governor Ed Rendell, a Party-Guy, not an ideologue.
Idiologue isn’t a bad word, even though the most idiological leftists have tried to use it as such. It just means the person is principled. Rightly or wrongly they’re driven by their ideas and principles.
