Review – Mountain Lion
It just works…again…finally. |

Dr. J. downloaded Mountain Lion in a fit of desperation. Dr. J.’s iMac was dropping its connection every time it woke from sleep since we transiently switched from AT&T U-Verse to Comcast. This connection issue is easily fixed by turning on and off the wi-fi but it would mess up streaming to his Apple TV, and more importantly, Mrs. Dr. J. would be unhappy.
So, Dr. J. spent $19.99 plus tax and downloaded it from the AppStore, and low and behold, problem solved. The wifi connections have been the best they’ve ever been. He even downloaded it on his work computer at the bemusement of IT guy who has given up trying to rein in Dr. J.’s antics on his work laptop.
The other feature of Mountain Lion that Dr. J.’s played with is AirPlay, which allows you to run your computer screen wirelessly on your TV via your Apple TV. That one will have a few applications.
Dr. J. hasn’t fooled around with iCloud yet, as he has things at home he wants at home and things at work he wants at work, and some limited overlap (music, video) and he doesn’t want his work laptop, Mrs. Dr. J.’s work laptop, iPads and our iMac to become too intertwined for comfort. But that will roll out in the near future.
Anyway, the $20 was well spent just to fix Lion’s hideous connection problems.
