A Rebuilding Year for Both Parties
So Hillary Clinton is being suggested to run for President right over the cooling embers of the Greatest President Evah, Barack Obama. The latter is evidently happy serving as a doormat to the former, as the only re-elected one-term president in history establishes his legacy with golf and skiing trips for the family.
Congressionally, another Kennedy has reappeared on the scene; the track record for Kennedys is not that good: while voters are quick to point out the success of John F., Robert, and Ted, they do so at the expense of a dozen or so Kennedys or Kennedy relatives who failed politcally in short order.
Ashely Judd was promoting herself as a viable candidate for the US Senate in Kentucky, despite her inability to live in that state or provide a coherent statement that didnt involve rapists. Actually, those were statements were even worse. Sorry.
On the state level, Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe is suing a website for libel, because they accused a company he ran as being an investment scam, even though some investigators appear to have confirmed that shortly after McAuliffe quickly resigned.
And on the local level, look who is a serious contender for mayor! Anthony Weiner Weiner finished in a strong 2nd place position in a local but reasonably accurate poll of potential replacements for the increasingly insane Michael Bloomberg.
Guess what they all have in common? If you said washouts, you would be right, but the Czar was hoping you would say Democrats. Make no mistakethe Democratic party remains as dangerous as ever, but Seth Mandel at Commentary reveals something a lot of us think: the Democrats are weaker now than they have been in 30 years.
Basically, the crazy former hippies and crazy former radicals that make up the current generation of Democrats is retiring, burning out, or getting arrested. And Generation X candidates that reject Reagan are hard to find: the pool of reasonable candidates is just not there anymore.
Of course, this would only be good news is the GOP were capitalizing on it. But so far, outside of a few noisy politicians, we have seen little of value. Fortunately, those noisy politicians are making progress: Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and a bunch more also have something in common. Can you guess?
If you said they are competently conservative, you would be right. The Czar was going for young, but that works too.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
