Who is more foolish…

Gentle Readers,
You may recall a group of students from the Young American Foundation who drafted a sham petition and looked for signers in hopes of demanding a university redistribute GPA points from students who excel to those who struggle. The fact that the metaphor was lost on the students who felt redistribution of wealth was ok was what was both telling about our educational system, and the selfishness of the typical college student (rob from the rich, but not from me, who values a different currency). We discussed this many moons ago.
In a dark, disturbing way, this video gave Dr. J. a chuckle yesterday. Our friends at the Media Research Center, a not for profit that, among other things, monitors for liberal media bias, and reports on topics not covered or covered in a distorted manner by the mainstream media (the use of MSM makes Dr. J. chuckle) passed a sham petition around a university this summer petitioning to legalize fourth trimester abortion, a controversial procedure not presently legal in the 50 states because it would be called murder.
The video is hillarious as it appears that the majority of the 14 individuals who signed the petition had no clue that the ‘fourth trimester’ is the first three months of life outside the womb. That is a sign that the education system is failing our students in that they neither know that trimesters come in threes, and that human gestation is broken up into trimesters of approximately 3 months each, so there is an #englishfail, a #mathfail, a #sciencefail, and even an #sexedfail going on. While one could argue that the petitioner was deceptive, implying that the child was still in the womb, referring to the child as being at 40 weeks, or after 9 months, anyone with an ounce of sense should have caught on.
There were, however, a few who perhaps were fine with the notion of post-birth infanticide. Either way, the fact that there were 14 signers who were cool with 4th trimester abortion suggest to Dr. J. that we may be at the twilight of civilization as the generations behind us are morons, morally bereft, or both.
