Well, the gun control arguments have been disarmed, and we can pretty well bet that gun control will never happen at this point. The US Senate won’t even entertain new legislation concerning firearms. Done. Dead. Finished.

Also, forget about global climate change. They had us with warming but lost us with cooling. The arguments are all bunk, right? And besides—polls show Americans have little interest in new regulations and carbon credits and whatnot.

And, if you look back at 1992-1993, you can see that healthcare is no longer a problem. People advocating for government-run healthcare lost that battle. No purpose in entertaining any arguments on government takeover of your healthcare.

Wait. Scratch the last one. Even though we thought the arguments for healthcare were settled 20 years ago, we saw the return of government-run healthcare come back in a horrifying and disastrous way. Just when everyone thought this was dead and done, the government simply took over healthcare one day. The Progressives couldn’t do it politically, and couldn’t do it legally, so they just up and took over it despite your no vote.

Come to think of it, also scratch out that second one. With evidence dropping for anthropogenic nonsense, the Progressives are fixing to start a new push for stricter regulations, using the EPA to simply create laws without a vote. The government is stonewalling drilling efforts and subsidizing unproven green technologies. You may think the argument is settled and over, but that makes no difference.

You might be prepared to scratch that first one, too. Even though all 50 states now have a form of legal carry, and even though studies are confirming the Lott Theorem, there is no reason to suspect the Left won’t simply create laws from thin air.

The Czar of Muscovy

The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
