When LTC Dan (ret.) writes you to say decent job, well, that’s high praise indeed. The Czar is sure you hold him in the same esteem with which we do, given all he has done. The colonel says:

Thank you for the post entitled American Voters: You Suck. Here’s Why.

For quite awhile, I’ve felt as though I’ve been the lone voice crying in the wilderness. Conservatives–or, perhaps, non-statists of all stripes–need to quit giving up on candidates when there are only two or three disagreements on policy. The Left is really good at this; they will stick with their wo/man if there is agreement on one or two things. They use that small area of agreement to build an echo chamber that is very difficult to tune out, let alone counter. And the more voters require ‘ideological purity’ at the cost of political efficacy, the harder it is to beat back the liberty restrictions endorsed by the statists.

It’s becoming difficult enough to keep my now-grown kids focused on liberty, and being able to discern the creeping restrictions, without the constant internecine battles over tactics. Frankly, until and unless liberty-minded people are in positions of influence, these battles are costly distractions.

So, again, thanks for the above entitled post.

The Czar will add that history keeps underlining things we write. As you know, today’s Virginia gubernatorial election was not helped by a “Libertarian” candidate named Robert Sarvis, who was polling at about 10% of the vote.

Yes, some of these folks supported Sarvis because they are Democrats who think Terry McAuliffe is a jackass. But a lot of them are so-called libertarians—doubtless crowing on some webpage right now about how they hate big government Republicans like the uber-conservative Ken Cuccinelli—without ever bothering to notice that Sarvis is a Democratic plant, funded by Obama campaign financiers to derail the Ken Cuccinelli campaign. Holy cow, even libertarian whackadoo Ron Paul came out of his Skinner box to warn libertarians that Cuccinelli is their guy, not Sarvis.

We are glad you sympathize, for the Czar is fed up with nitpicky gestures and attitudes that serve to elect and re-elect completely abhorrent Democrats. The problem is that the folks who pay the most lip-service to the Constitution—these intellectual libertarians—refuse to pay anything else, including freaking attention.

The Czar of Muscovy

The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
