More Bad News for Democrats
CNN conducted what appears to be the 7,346th straight poll that spells real problem for the Democrats. In this their latest, even CNN is conceding that its a rough time to be a Democrat.
Worse, CNNwho at worst shills for the President and at best looks the other way when Republicans to something good (evidently the new definition of balanced because theyre a hell of a lot better than MSNBC)concludes that if you are a Democratic candidate, you want to be as far from Barack Obama as possible. In fact, the Czar might suggest, you want to attach your primary opponents names to him.
The latest poll, which liberals are stressing is a marginal lead, shows Republicans have a 49%-44% edge over Democrats. So not quite more than 50%.
Except, in analysis of of election results, a 5% delta is a significant advantage. When a Democrat beats a Republican by 5%, they call it a landslide. When a Republican beats a Democrat by the same, it is a slight edge.
The President, in particular, is losing support in every single demographic…not just the swing voters, but even among loyalists. His support among Hispanics has tanked, and women and young voters are thumbing him down in surprising percentages.
But dont get crazy, CNN warns: there is still a long way to go until November. Of course, they properly note, the trend is looking a hell of a lot like 1994 and 2010 when Republicans swarmed over Democrats in mid-terms. Actually, if you reverse the parties, many more examples of tide-turning elections are eligible.
Also of note is that the error margin is only 3%, meaning that this poll could be completely wrong…and still the Republicans are looking like winners.
The Czar is increasingly optimistic that we could have a Republican Congress again. Of course, what would be better is a Republican majority with the power to override a veto. But like CNN saysthere is still a long road until November. And things arent looking better.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
