Trouble in Workers’ Paradise
Democrat candidates eligible for re-election are carefully stripping any mention of Obamacare from their websites and campaign literature; unfortunately, some Democrats not running for re-election keep trumpeting the disastrous program, and this is already turning the tide. In one ultra-Democratic district in Massachusetts, we have learned a Republican candidatea total unknown before October 1sthas evened out the race in the polls. Other Republicans are pulling ahead in races they previously suffered under longshot status.
Barack Obama appears to have an inside revolution on his hands. No, not one of those ginned-up pretend rebellions like US House Speaker John Boehner had with the Republican Senator of the day, but an honest-to-goodness were not gonna take it ultimatum from numerous candidates on the national level. The Senate continues to tilt toward a Republican majority in 2014, and there seems to be little to stop it.
Sure, the President has quietly issued executive order after executive order delaying parts of Obamacare…the most recent being this week, when small business owners were granted a one-year delay on bumping employees off in-house health plans. But none of this will do any good, because the President still hasnt picked up Insurance For Dummies, although doubtless there are several copies on the Oval Office desk. The President can grant delays all he wantsthe problem is that the healthcare carriers were not given a delay about a year ago, and have already terminated or started to terminate their old policies. Sorry: insurance isn&3146;t like issuing a library card where you can always roll back to the old way of doing it. Every type of policy has a prospectus written, for which the financial risks are calculated and a profit model demonstrated. This takes about a year to execute, so if the President really wanted to delay things another year, he should have issued his orders back in 2011 or 2012. Because he didnt, its way too late: millions of cancellation letters will be going out throughout the Summer and Fall of 2014, pissing off untold numbers of voters.
And let us not neglect former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Her polling numbers are dismal right now, but that isnt the half of it. A good PR push can fix that, but she is campaigning from a terrible position: quite a few folks are interested in running against her in a primaryand her missteps in Benghazi, one-time support of Obamacare, subsequent flipflop, and utter lack of accomplishment have given her future primary opponents unbelievably good ammunition. And, as we saw in 2008, Democrats will use it. After all, Barack Obama himself tipped over the Hillary Inevitability myth; the gameplan he used is so simple, even Barack Obama could use it.
As you start to sniff around the conservative outlets, you see these types of analyses everywhere. In fact, very few conservative thinkers are taking contrary positions these days; the most terrifying aspect of all this is how many liberal thinkers are starting to agree. And not privately, but openly.
Божію Поспѣшествующею Милостію Мы, Дима Грозный Императоръ и Самодержецъ Всероссiйскiй, цѣсарь Московскiй. The Czar was born in the steppes of Russia in 1267, and was cheated out of total control of all Russia upon the death of Boris Mikhailovich, who replaced Alexander Yaroslav Nevsky in 1263. However, in 1283, our Czar was passed over due to a clerical error and the rule of all Russia went to his second cousin Daniil (Даниил Александрович), whom Czar still resents. As a half-hearted apology, the Czar was awarded control over Muscovy, inconveniently located 5,000 miles away just outside Chicago. He now spends his time seething about this and writing about other stuff that bothers him.
