The pageant of incompetence continues at the Obama White House. Remember when we said this?<\/a><\/p>\n

Let us see if we have this mapped out. The United States backed protesters in Egypt, demanded \u1e24usn\u012b Mub\u0101rak resign immediately, got chummy with the Muslim Brotherhood, decided Mub\u0101rak should stay but transition power to others, supported a democratic election, celebrated Mub\u0101rak\u2019s unceremonial dumping, opposed the Muslim Brotherhood crackdown on freedoms, refused to back them when unrest began, sort of backed the military\u2019s coup, refused to call it a coup, continued foreign aid, suspended foreign aid because it was a coup, and now reinstituted foreign aid because it really isn\u2019t a coup.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What a shame that cannot be updated with better information: word for word, it still applies.<\/p>\n

Let us now add Syria into the mix.<\/p>\n

The United States backed protesters in Syria, demanded that Bashar al-\u02beAsad resign immediately, got chummy with a group that turned out to be mostly al-Q\u0101\u02bfidah bastards, asked Russia to help, asked Russia to stay the hell out, warned \u02beAsad that we would intervene, explained to the rebels we would not intervene, told Russia to stop arming the \u02beAsad military, explained that if \u02beAsad escalated we would intervene, assured Russia we most certainly will not intervene, boasted that if \u02beAsad used chemical weapons we would have no choice but to respond, repeated that chemical weapons would be the red line, received evidence that chemical weapons were used, confirmed it, denied it, doubted it, reminded \u02beAsad we were serious about intervention, found clear and undeniable evidence that chemical weapons were used, sent the Navy to their shores, announced a missile attack would be underway, confirmed that all senior staff were in agreement, held off in honor of Dr. King’s speech anniversary, announced that a missile attack is scheduled for today, promoted that Obama was still looking at options, and now announced no missile attack is forthcoming. Maybe tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Small wonder that one of the world’s most insignificant dictators—so pathetic in his sway that many Western journalists wrote glowing reviews of his pro-Western reforms, is now crowing that has now declared a major psychological victory<\/a> over the evil United States.<\/p>\n

\u02beAsad is probably more on the mark to declare victory than Obama was to declare a red line. \u02beAsad is a vile little creature, and the Syrians should continue to force him out of power, but the fact is this: he is unfortunately more competent at politics than our President: \u02beAsad, for one thing, has correctly guessed that Obama has no stomach for tough decisions and rarely backs up his tough-guy talk unless it involves older, white men in Congress.<\/p>\n

Iran threatens that if the United States gets involved in Syria—which we should not, lest we compound the human tragedy that is Syria—Iran will attack Israel. And Israel will counterattack Iran. And Russia and China will entangle the United States at the United Nations in mock protest. And Lebanon will enter the fray as a client state of Iran. And before you know it, we will have a multi-way war going on throughout the Near and Middle East—with the United States being led by one of the worst commanders-in-chief in decades.<\/p>\n

Coupled with the utter mess he has made at home with our economy, President Obama’s utterly clueless handling of foreign affairs has worsened several flashpoint countries. Had he simply stayed out of history’s way<\/i>, the damage in those countries could be minimized with no American entanglements. But Mr. Showboat wanted the world to think he was the Answer, and he has only made things far worse.<\/p>\n
