‘Puter’s been thinking about fairness and social justice lately, mostly because liberals use both concepts as a bludgeon against conservative policy positions, both in government and in the One Holy, (Roman) Catholic and Apostolic ChurchTM<\/span><\/sup>.<\/p>\n

To the Left, \u201cfair\u201d means \u201cin accordance with our preferred policies of the moment,\u201d nothing more and nothing less. The Left is not bothered that its definition of \u201cfair\u201d is so devoid of meaning as to be useless. In fact, to the left, its definition of \u201cfair\u201d is perfect, as it is adaptable to any situation, ready, willing and able to stand in instant apposition to Rethuglikkkans and their insidious agenda.<\/p>\n

Similarly, to the religious Left \u201csocial justice\u201d means \u201cin accordance with our preferred religious proclivities of the moment, no matter how deviant from the Bible and\/or the Magisterium such policies may be.\u201d Thus, we have Christians supporting abortion, gay marriage, unilateral disarmament, redistribution of wealth and myriad other things that are not only unsupported by Christian doctrine, but in many cases are in direct contradiction of Christian doctrine.<\/p>\n

In reality, \u201cfair<\/span><\/a>\u201d means \u201cmarked by impartiality and honesty: free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the Roman Catholic Church teaches \u201csocial justice<\/span><\/a>\u201d occurs \u201cwhen [society] provides the conditions that allow associations or individuals to obtain what is their due, according to their nature and their vocation. Social justice is linked to the common good and the exercise of authority.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Left\u2019s usage of \u201cfair\u201d and \u201csocial justice\u201d as discussion-ending bludgeons depends on Americans ignorance of these words\u2019 true meaning. Conservatives need to push back, challenging Americans\u2019 ignorance, calling liberals on their logical skipped steps. It may indeed be both fair and socially just to have a government administered welfare system, but simply stating so does not make it so.<\/p>\n

Make liberals show their work.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not social justice to take money from the wealthy to pay off voting blocks. The Left\u2019s redistributive bent ignores the right of the rich man to keep what he has. There may be a balance to be struck, but simply saying \u201cthis guy has less than you, so give him some of your money or else\u201d is as unjust to the rich man as the Left claims penury is to the poor man.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not a \u201cfair share\u201d where 47% of Americans pay income taxes to cover the operating costs of 100% of Americans, particularly where the 53% of Americans paying no income tax disproportionately require\/use government provided services. A fair share would mean everyone pays what he or she can afford, with everyone paying at least $1.00, regardless of income.<\/p>\n

There are eleventy infinity examples of liberals using distorted notions of \u201cfairness\u201d and \u201csocial justice\u201d to shame conservatives into rolling over for damaging liberal policy choices.  <\/span>Liberals don\u2019t have a monopoly on truth, justice and the American way. Don\u2019t let liberals get away with claiming they do.<\/p>\n

Conservatism has every bit as much (if not more) a claim to fairness and social justice as liberalism. Be proud of your beliefs. Stand up and defend our beliefs. Refuse to be shamed into silence, or worse, acquiescence.  <\/span>Conservatives have the better of the argument (mostly because we understand logic).<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s ideologically kick the liberal coalition of burned out hippies, race-baiters, labor unions, minorities and wymynz ryghtz aficionados in their metaphorical nuts.<\/p>\n
